1. Cornell Restaurant Club Inaugural Dinner at the Wine Garage
Cornell is unique among the Ivies for having a Hospitality School, unreputably one of the best in the world, and Singapore is unique globally in having a campus of this school on-site at the Cornell –Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management.
The Cornell Club (Singapore) is very pleased to share with DUAL the best of Cornell’s Hotel School with the kick off the Cornell Restaurant Club, which will showcase Cornellian owned and managed eating establishments in Singapore.
We are very proud to introduce, as our inaugural event, a dinner on Thursday 13 September at the Wine Garage, Robertson Quay, which is aptly a Cornellian- owned, managed and helmed establishment.
There are 3 Cornell Hoteliers at the Wine Garage:
– Proprietor Devin Kimble, MPS Cornell Hotel School ’93 (also owner of Brewerkz, where DUAL holds its monthly drinks), who has kindly extended an invite to hold the inaugural event
– Chef Travis Maseiro (Hotel School, 2003), who has prepared for us a delightful line-up of New American dishes with airflown ingredients for a very favourable price just for Cornell and DUAL
– Corporate Beverage Director Treys Ladrido (Hotel School, 2003), who has selected some of the fine wines on the menu
Think Bistro Q, Dano’s, Renee’s and Stella’s but kicked up a notch on the gourmet factor! Normally, dinner entrees are $35-45. Chef Travis has created a tasteful 3 course menu plus appetizers and matching wines for S$60 (food only) and S$85 (with wines). Gourmands and oenophiles will be delighted!

2. Columbia Business School MBA Reception
This year’s Columbia Business School MBA information session and reception for prospective students will be held on Friday, September 14th. Ms. Amanda Carlson, Columbia Business School Associate Director of MBA Admissions, will be here to talk to interested applicants. CBS alumni will also be present to share their experiences and the benefits of the Columbia Business School MBA.

3. Terry Fox Run
It’s “autumn” and it’s time for our 8th annual DUAL participation in the Terry Fox Run. This year’s Terry Fox Run will be held on Sunday, September 16th at 8:00am on Sentosa. There are two routes – 4 km and 9 km – and these are two different routes. We will start at Siloso Beach. Not only is this an opportunity to get some exercise but it’s for a good cause.

To date, Terry’s Marathon of Hope has raised more than $400 million worldwide for cancer research. In Singapore, it is our leading fundraiser for the Singapore Cancer Society and it needs your support.

6. Investment CEOs Forum – Opportunities and Market Outlook Forum
Following the well-received Investment CEOs Forum earlier in June, the Young Business Leaders Forum and NUS MBA Alumni will be organizing a second installment on 11 October featuring speakers on asset management, property, REIT and wealth management.
The Investment CEOs Forum, a new program of the Young Business Leaders Forum (YBF) – a platform initiative under Singapore Business Federation (SBF) is jointly organized with NUS MBA Alumni in association with the Distinguished Alumni Business Leaders Forum. It is targeted at YBF and SBF members and members of the business, industry and general communities who are interested to find out more about investment opportunities and market outlook. Each session of this quarterly series will comprise a panel of investment CEOs across real estate and property, stock market and finance, as well as venture capital and private equity and other areas, based on different themes across the year.

7. DUAL Fit Dance
